Open Add Page Numbers to PDF and choose the number style and position. The example adds 1, 2, 3, 4 at the bottom center of a four-page document.
Choose the number format
Load the PDF or try the sample. Keep 1, 2, 3… under Number format and set Start numbering at to 1. Other styles can include a Page label or the total page count.
Place the numbers in clear space
Choose the bottom-center position. The example uses a 12-point sans serif font, black text and a 0.5-inch margin. Inspect the live preview for overlap with existing footers.
You can move the number in the preview or use the fine-tuning controls. Check both portrait and landscape pages if the document mixes them.
Choose the range and save
Keep First page at 1 and Last page at 0, which means the document’s end. Keep all pages in the range selected, choose Start and download.
The output still has four pages, with newly added numbers 1–4. Open the saved PDF and check the first, last and any differently sized page.
