Use Attach Files to PDF to keep a document and a supporting file together. In our actual example, a four-page PDF gains release-notes.txt as an embedded attachment. The pages remain visually the same; the downloaded copy now carries one file.
Start with the PDF you want to share
Open Attach Files to PDF and choose your document. The preview lets you confirm the pages. The tool creates a new PDF copy and does not overwrite the original.
Our example starts with a four-page PDF and no embedded files.
Add the companion files
Choose Add files and select one or more supporting files. Review each filename and size, and remove a file from the list if you selected it by mistake. We add a small release-notes.txt file.
The tool accepts up to 20 added files, with limits on individual, combined and final PDF sizes. Existing embedded attachments are retained when a source PDF has them.
Download and verify the new PDF
Choose Start, then Download. Our result remains four pages and contains release-notes.txt as an embedded file. Open the output in a PDF reader that supports attachments to confirm it is available.
Support for viewing attachments varies by reader. Resaving a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its signature, so check signatures before using the new copy as an official document.
Common questions
Will the visible PDF pages change?
The tool keeps the page content, while adding embedded files to a new PDF copy. Our example’s four pages look the same.
Can I add more than one file?
Yes, within the tool’s file-count and size limits. Review the list before starting.
Can I recover the files later?
Yes. A compatible PDF reader can show them, or you can use Extract PDF Attachments to save them in a ZIP.
Deliver the PDF with its supporting files.
Add the files, inspect the list and download the new copy.
