Open PDF to RGB, upload your document and select the destination RGB profile. Our example uses the default sRGB profile and exports all four pages.
Load the PDF and choose an RGB profile
Add the PDF or choose the sample. Under RGB profile, keep sRGB for the demonstrated workflow, or select the profile required by your destination.
Other available choices include Adobe RGB (1998), Apple RGB and video-oriented profiles. Choose these when you have a specific requirement, rather than assuming a different profile will automatically make every document look better.
Review the color conversion settings
Open Colour settings if you need to change Rendering intent or Black point compensation. Our example uses Relative colorimetric with black point compensation enabled.
Keep a source copy while comparing settings. A conversion can change colors that do not map directly into the destination profile; changing the profile name alone is not a visual quality test.
Preview, export and inspect the PDF
Use Preview colours to inspect the current page and the available red, green and blue channel views. After changing settings, refresh the preview before judging the result.
Choose Start to export the whole document, then download and open the PDF. The example retains four pages and embeds the selected three-component sRGB profile. Expand Colour conversion report for the tool’s inspection information.
Review text, images, gradients and the appearance in your intended PDF reader. The preview is for one page, so check the rest of the saved document as well.
Common questions
Will an RGB conversion always make a visible difference?
No. A source can already contain similar RGB colors. Compare the actual appearance and the profile information rather than expecting a dramatic before-and-after effect.
Should I use RGB for a printer that requests CMYK?
Follow the receiving workflow’s requirements. If it asks for a CMYK profile, use PDF to CMYK and choose the requested printing profile instead.
